TJES Editorial Process Steps.
  1. Submission of the Manuscript
    The author submits the research article through the journal system and selects the appropriate journal section based on the research specialization.
  2. Initial Section Assignment
    The Section Editor reviews the manuscript to ensure it falls within the scope and specialization of the selected section.
  3. Editorial Suitability Decision
    The Section Editor evaluates whether the manuscript is appropriate for peer review and possible publication.
    • If not suitable, the Section Editor consults the Editor-in-Chief and the Journal Manager to decide on rejection.
    • If suitable, the manuscript proceeds to the next stage.
  4. Plagiarism and AI Usage Check
    The Journal Editor performs:
    • Plagiarism detection.
    • AI-generated content verification.
  5. Self-Citation Check (Tikrit Journal for Engineering Sciences)
    At this stage, the editorial office verifies the self-citation rate of the Tikrit Journal for Engineering Sciences in the manuscript references to ensure:
    • Citations are relevant and justified.
    • The manuscript does not contain excessive or inappropriate self-citations of the journal.
  6. Initiation of the Peer Review Process
    The Section Editor begins the peer review process by selecting appropriate reviewers.
  7. Peer Review Evaluation
    Reviewers evaluate the manuscript and submit their reports.
  8. Final Editorial Decision
    Based on reviewers’ reports, the Section Editor decides whether:
    • The manuscript will be accepted for publication, or
    • The manuscript will be rejected.

    If accepted, the Journal Editor begins:
    • Final content verification.
    • Production and formatting.
    • Preparation for publication.
  1. Rejection of the Manuscript
    If the manuscript is rejected at any stage, the decision is recorded in the system and communicated to the author.
